Roman Polanski

Roman Polanski, born in Paris in 1933, is a Polish-French filmmaker whose career spans art house and commercial cinema. Surviving the Holocaust, he emerged as a critically acclaimed director with "Knife in the Water" (1962), earning an Oscar nomination. His move to Hollywood solidified his status with "Rosemary's Baby" (1968), and he won the Palme d'Or for "The Pianist" (2002).
