Sam Brown has been around New Zealand's big builds since The Lord of the Rings — carpentry, standby, and set dressing across the trilogy, both new Avatars, and a run of features and television in between.
These days he's more often beside the department than on the tools: consulting to art departments and construction crews on data and workflow — asset tracking, documentation, budgets, and the handovers between departments that make or break a schedule. He still takes the occasional build. It keeps the advice honest.
He runs Unit Seven, the Te Whanganui-a-Tara practice behind wrapped.unitseven.co.nz — a managed portfolio framework for teh New Zealand film industry.
12 credits across 4 departments.
