Sam Levinson, born in 1985, is an American filmmaker and actor, the son of Academy Award-winning director Barry Levinson. His debut as a writer with the action comedy "Operation Endgame" in 2010 was followed by his directorial bow with "Another Happy Day" at Sundance in 2011. Levinson's collaboration with HBO includes writing for his father's film "The Wizard of Lies" and creating the critically acclaimed, controversial teen drama "Euphoria," adapted from an Israeli series, and the divisive "The Idol.
