Shohreh Aghdashloo, born in 1952, is an Iranian American actress whose career spans theatre and film in Iran before the 1979 revolution, which prompted her relocation to England and later American citizenship. Her breakthrough came in 2003 with a critically acclaimed performance in "House of Sand and Fog," earning her an Oscar nomination. Aghdashloo’s nuanced portrayals have since graced both film and television, culminating in an Emmy Award for her work in the TV series "House of Saddam.
