Simonetta Stefanelli, born on November 30, 1954, is an Italian actress who found international recognition for her role as Apollonia Vitelli-Corleone in Francis Ford Coppola's 1972 classic, The Godfather. Her career spans multiple genres, with appearances in films such as Moses the Lawgiver, Scandal in the Family, and Three Brothers. Beyond acting, Stefanelli has ventured into entrepreneurship and fashion design, marking a diverse and multifaceted career that extends well beyond her memorable turn as the ill-fated bride in one of cinema's defining epics. Her last film performance was in 1992's Le amiche del cuore, directed by her then-husband Michele Placido.
