Simu Liu, born in Harbin, China, and raised in Mississauga, Ontario, is a Canadian actor who shot to fame as Shang-Chi in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His breakthrough role in "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" (2021) followed a series of diverse performances, including Paul Xie in the crime drama "Blood and Water," for which he earned nominations for a Canadian Screen Award and an ACTRA Award, and Jung Kim in the CBC sitcom "Kim's Convenience." Liu also appeared as one of the Ken dolls in the fantasy comedy "Barbie" (2023). In 2022, he published his memoir, "We Were Dreamers," and was named one of Time magazine's 100 most influential people.
