Teruyuki Kagawa

Teruyuki Kagawa, born in 1965, is a Japanese actor and boxing commentator whose career has been marked by a complex relationship with his kabuki heritage. The son of the renowned kabuki actor Ichikawa Ennosuke III and cinema actress Yuko Hama, Kagawa grew up distanced from his father due to his parents' divorce, a situation compounded by his mother's reluctance to expose him to kabuki. Despite this estrangement, he attempted to reconnect with his father in his twenties but was rebuffed. Kagawa pursued a degree in social psychology at the University of Tokyo before entering the film industry, earning critical acclaim and two nominations for Best Supporting Actor at the Japanese Academy Awards, ultimately winning for his role in "Mt. Tsurugidake.
