Virginia Pearson

Virginia Belle Pearson, an American stage and screen actress active from 1910 to 1932, left a mark on early cinema with her fifty-one films. Born in Anchorage, Kentucky, she briefly worked in a Louisville library before training in New York's theatrical scene. Known for bold roles, including the vamp in "Hypocrisy," Pearson was championed by William Fox. Her filmography includes controversial works like "Blazing Love" and "The Phantom of the Opera." Despite a tumultuous personal life marked by bankruptcy and divorce from fellow actor Sheldon Lewis, Pearson remained a Hollywood fixture until her death in 1958, sharing a grave with her ex-husband in Valhalla Memorial Park Cemetery.
