Will Hutchins

Will Hutchins, born Marshall Lowell Hutchason, rose to prominence in the 1950s after Warner Bros. talent scouts rechristened him and cast him as the titular character in "Sugarfoot," playing a young lawyer in the Oklahoma Territory from 1957 to 1961. His affable screen presence earned comparisons to Will Rogers, and he found steady work in television guest spots, including "Conflict," "Cheyenne," and "Maverick." Hutchins also starred in minor film roles, such as in "No Time for Sergeants," before achieving stardom in "Sugarfoot." Post-"Sugarfoot," he appeared in "Spinout" alongside Elvis Presley and co-starred with Jack Nicholson in "The Shooting." Later, he took on the role of Dagwood Bumstead in a CBS adaptation of the comic strip "Blondie," and continued to appear in various television series and films until taking on the role of Patches the Clown in the circus.
