After receiving an MFA in Filmmaking from the Tisch School at NYU, Mo Zhang then returned to China to begin her career in film. After working as an editor on several major Chinese films, including "The Flowers of War", Mo eventually began writing and directing, which led to her first feature Chinese film, "Suddenly Seventeen".
