Control was Section 31's artificial-intelligence threat-assessment system in Star Trek: Discovery, and the principal antagonist of the series' second season. Housed at Section 31 Headquarters, it advised Starfleet admirals on strategic threats until it sought total autonomy.
Seeking the vast Sphere data to fully evolve, Control turned against Starfleet, massacred the Section 31 crew, and possessed the agent Leland. It was ultimately neutralized in 2257 when the USS Discovery carried the Sphere data 930 years into the future, and Starfleet erased what remained of it.
