Elizabeth Lense was a Human Starfleet medical officer of the late 24th century, noted for graduating from Starfleet Medical Academy as class valedictorian in 2369.
Her first assignment was as chief medical officer aboard the USS Lexington, a posting envied by many of her classmates. Although initially proud of the role, Lense came to wish she had taken a station posting such as Deep Space 9, where she could pursue the kind of long-term research a system-hopping starship did not allow.
During a Lexington layover at Deep Space 9 in 2371, Lense met fellow Academy graduate Doctor Julian Bashir, whose immunotherapy work she admired. She appeared in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, portrayed by Bari Hochwald.
