Lieutenant Ilia is a Deltan Starfleet officer in Star Trek: The Motion Picture, assigned to the navigation and helm branches of the USS Enterprise under Captain James T. Kirk. A native of Delta IV, she had sworn the oath of celibacy required of Deltans in Starfleet and had a past romantic connection with the ship's captain, Will Decker.
During the Enterprise's confrontation with V'Ger, Ilia was absorbed by the entity, which then created a near-perfect probe duplicate in her image to study the crew.
