Commander Kruge was a male Klingon officer of the 23rd century Klingon Empire and the principal antagonist of the film Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. Commanding a Klingon Bird-of-Prey in 2285, he pursued intelligence on the Federation's Genesis Device, which he regarded as a powerful potential weapon to be secured for the Empire.
Ruthless and single-minded, Kruge recruited the spy Valkris to obtain data on the project and then destroyed her ship, later disabling and destroying the science vessel USS Grissom and taking Saavik, David Marcus, and the regenerated Spock hostage on the Genesis planet. He was killed by Admiral James T. Kirk during a final confrontation amid the disintegrating planet.
Kruge was portrayed by Christopher Lloyd. This overview summarizes information drawn from Memory Alpha under CC BY-SA; see the Timeline for a chronological account of his appearances.
