Martia was a 23rd-century Chameloid, a shapeshifting species able to change appearance at will. Having committed a major crime against the Klingon Empire, she was imprisoned at the Klingon penal colony Rura Penthe in the 2290s.
In 2293 she was recruited, in exchange for a promised pardon, into a Klingon plot to kill Captain James T. Kirk and Doctor Leonard McCoy by helping them escape. Cycling through several guises, she was ultimately killed when the colony's commandant was tricked into shooting her by the real Kirk. Martia was portrayed by Iman in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country.
