5-L was an MSE-6-series repair (mouse) droid that served the First Order aboard the Star Destroyer Thunderer. When the TIE pilot DT-533, Tamara Ryvora, decided to defect, she reprogrammed 5-L to help her, and the droid assisted her escape and relayed a message to the Resistance's Kazuda Xiono. 5-L first appeared in the Star Wars Resistance episode 'The Escape.'
