Ames Uravan was a human male scientist and engineer from Christophsis, a pioneer of kyber crystal research and crystalline engineering. Forcibly conscripted into Imperial service around 19 BBY, he was assigned to the kyber crystal research team of the Tarkin Initiative and stationed at the Eadu Energy Conversion Laboratory, where he worked under Galen Erso to make kyber crystals a viable power source for the Death Star's superlaser.
In 1 BBY, after Director Orson Krennic learned of a leak to the Rebel Alliance, Uravan and his fellow scientists were executed by death troopers on Eadu. Uravan first appeared in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, portrayed by Robert Benedetti-Hall.
