AP-5, nicknamed "AP," was a masculine RA-7 protocol droid who served as a military analyst and navigator for the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars before being relegated to inventory duty under the Galactic Empire. After befriending the astromech Chopper he defected to the rebellion, working as an inventory droid for the Phoenix Cell at Chopper Base on Atollon. Known for a grumpy, sarcastic manner but unwavering loyalty, AP-5 aided missions including the raid on Wynkahthu and the capture of the infiltrator droid EXD-9. He is a recurring character in Star Wars Rebels.
