BD-72 was a repurposed vintage BD explorer droid owned by the mechanic Peli Motto on Tatooine during the New Republic Era. His motivational firmware carried a deeply programmed curiosity intended for exploration, which he redirected as a repair assistant to find inventive ways of helping his fellow mechanics.
Equipped with a spotlight, a holoprojector and recorder, and a retractable scomp link in his left leg, BD-72 assisted Din Djarin and Peli Motto in constructing Din Djarin's customized N-1 starfighter. He first appeared in Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett. Content adapted under CC BY-SA.
