Gungi was a male Wookiee Jedi who trained in the Jedi Order during the era of the Galactic Republic. As one of the top younglings of his class, he journeyed to Ilum for the Gathering, where he earned his kyber crystal and constructed a distinctive green-bladed lightsaber with a wooden hilt of Brylark wood.
Gungi survived the Great Jedi Purge and continued as a Jedi during the early Imperial Era. After being freed from captivity by Omega and Clone Force 99, he returned to his homeworld of Kashyyyk, where he chose to remain and protect his people.
