Jai Kell was a human male from Lothal who, in his youth, was a cadet at the Academy for Young Imperials, where instructors suspected he might be Force-sensitive. Assigned to Unit Aurek, he befriended Zare Leonis and the disguised rebel Ezra Bridger before being helped into hiding by the Spectres to escape the Grand Inquisitor's Project Harvester.
Years later Kell joined Ryder Azadi's Lothal resistance, aiding the Spectres against the Imperial occupation and the TIE Defender program. By the era of the New Republic he had become a senator representing Lothal, and helped unveil a public mural honoring the Spectres in Capital City.
