Ketsu Onyo was a human female Mandalorian from Shukut who worked as a bounty hunter for the Black Sun crime syndicate in the years before the Battle of Yavin. She had studied alongside Sabine Wren at the Imperial Academy on Mandalore and helped her friend escape, after which the two became bounty-hunting partners before parting on bad terms.
Reuniting with Wren during a mission on Garel, Onyo reconciled with her old friend and increasingly aided the rebellion, using her starship the Shadow Caster to support the Phoenix Cell. After leaving Black Sun, she formally joined the Rebel Alliance and assisted operations ranging from securing fuel to helping liberate Lothal.
