Miramir was a human female, born on the planet Hyperkarn, who lived as a junk trader during the New Republic era. She was the wife of Dathan, a genetic strand-cast of the Sith Lord Darth Sidious, and the mother of Rey.
To hide their Force-sensitive daughter from Sidious, Miramir and Dathan fled to the desert world of Jakku and entrusted Rey to the scavenger Unkar Plutt. The couple were pursued and killed by the Sith assassin Ochi, and their remains were later buried on the frozen world of Neftali. Dismissed as insignificant by her enemies, Miramir was remembered by Rey as the mother who sacrificed everything to keep her safe.
