R2-Q2 was an R2-series astromech droid manufactured by Industrial Automaton and attached to the 501st Legion of the Galactic Empire. During the Galactic Civil War it was part of the team that boarded the CR90 corvette Tantive IV to root out Rebel spies suspected of carrying the stolen Death Star plans. It had black, gray, and white plating and stood 0.96 meters tall.
Decades later, R2-Q2 no longer served the Empire and instead was a member of the Resistance, stationed at the base on D'Qar. The droid first appeared in Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. This Overview is drawn from Wookieepedia under CC BY-SA; chronology is detailed in the Timeline.
