Salacious B. Crumb was a male Kowakian monkey-lizard who served as the unofficial court jester of the Hutt crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure. Known for his shrill, cackling laughter and a talent for mimicking Jabba's courtiers, visitors, and even the Hutt himself, Crumb earned his keep under a simple arrangement: amuse Jabba at least once a day or be slain. Utterly loyal to his master and possessed of no moral code of his own, he became a fixture of Jabba's Palace on Tatooine during the Galactic Civil War.
Crumb was present through the events surrounding the rescue of Han Solo in 4 ABY, laughing at the misfortunes of Jabba's captives and enemies alike. When the Hutt was killed during the confrontation at the Great Pit of Carkoon, an enraged Crumb attacked the droid C-3PO before being shocked by R2-D2, and he perished when Jabba's sail barge exploded. Portrayed through a puppet operated by Tim Rose and voiced by Mark Dodson, he first appeared in Return of the Jedi.
