The past, present, and future. The thoughts and images of one man... for all men. One man's dreams... for every dreamer.

Akira Kurosawa’s “Dreams” (1990) weaves eight visually sumptuous vignettes culled from his own nocturnal visions. Through fox weddings, haunted orchards, spectral soldiers, and journeys through Van Gogh’s landscapes, the film meditates on childhood innocence, the ephemeral nature of art, and humanity’s fraught relationship with the natural world. Nuclear apocalypse looms, juxtaposed with visions of pastoral utopias, inviting viewers to contemplate mortality and the elusive harmony between man and nature.
