Ladyhawke, a gothic fantasy from 1985, weaves a tale of forbidden love and revenge through the intertwined fates of Captain Etienne Navarre and Lady Isabeau. Doomed by a bishop’s curse, Navarre transforms into a wolf at night while Isabeau becomes a hawk by day, their physical union impossible. With the help of the wily thief Philippe Gaston, Navarre plots to topple the corrupt cleric and break the malevolent spell, a quest that entwines romance, intrigue, and medieval mores in a shadowed, baroque narrative.
