Drogon is one of the three dragons hatched by Daenerys Targaryen, named for her late husband Khal Drogo and distinguished by his black-and-red scales. The largest and most aggressive of the three, he became Daenerys's personal mount and bore the first dragonrider seen in Westeros for over a century.
Across Game of Thrones he grew from a hatchling into a weapon of war, burning his mother's enemies from Astapor to the Goldroad and, ultimately, King's Landing; with the deaths of Rhaegal and Viserion he became the last known living dragon.
