The Sorcerer is an unnamed practitioner of dark magic from the Free City of Myr who appears in Game of Thrones. Years before the events of the series he purchased the boy who would become Varys and mutilated him as part of a magical ritual.
Having risen to power as Master of Whisperers, Varys later had the man tracked down, captured and imprisoned, keeping him bound within a crate.
