Torrhen Karstark is a son of Lord Rickard Karstark of Karhold and a bannerman of House Stark in the HBO series Game of Thrones. During the War of the Five Kings he serves in Robb Stark's army and is assigned to guard the captive Jaime Lannister.
Jaime strangles Torrhen with his chains during an escape attempt. His death enrages Lord Rickard, who later murders two Lannister hostages in revenge — a crime for which Robb Stark executes him, fracturing the Northern host.
