Prince Trystane Martell was the eldest son and heir of Prince Doran Martell, ruler of Dorne, and a member of House Martell. He was betrothed to Myrcella Baratheon as part of the alliance between Dorne and the Iron Throne, and was raised at the Water Gardens of Sunspear. Unlike most Dornishmen he shared his father's even temper, and was intended to take up a seat on the Small Council in King's Landing.
