Decision
Imported facts from external providers (TMDB, IGDB, MusicBrainz, Wikidata, and Fandom pending license review) enter the graph in a new lifecycle state: provisional-imported. The state has these properties:
- Auto-attributed to the provider as citation source
- No Credits awarded on import (no human author)
- Open to
validateanddisputeops from the moment of import - First human
validateop promotes to standard provisional state and begins the normal consensus path - A
disputeop pulls the triple into the normal pipeline, where the dispute is adjudicated against the provider's claim plus any human follow-on
Reasoning
Bootstrapping a fictional-universe knowledge graph from zero is a multi-year cold-start problem. Provider import solves it. But imported facts can't enter as consensus-reached without breaking the credit and consensus models — they have no human author and no community vote behind them. The provisional-imported state preserves consensus integrity while giving OLN mass coverage at launch. It also closes G4 (cold-start regime) cleanly: the cold-start problem isn't "how do we get to MIN_SAMPLE on every triple?" — it's "how do we let humans confirm or contest a provider's claim?"
