Freca was a lord of the West-march of Rohan who ruled lands along the River Adorn and was rumoured to carry Dunlending blood. His quarrel with King Helm Hammerhand, ended by a single fatal blow from the king, set off a lasting feud between Rohan and the Dunlendings.
His son Wulf later avenged him by invading Rohan. Freca is featured in the 2024 animated film The War of the Rohirrim, voiced by Shaun Dooley.
