Gerontius Took, remembered as the Old Took, was a Hobbit of the Shire and its twenty-sixth Shire-thain, famed for living to the great age of 130. A friend of Gandalf and husband of Adamanta Chubb, he fathered twelve children and was a direct ancestor of Bilbo and Frodo Baggins.
He is depicted in the extended edition of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
