Amy Poehler, born in 1971, is an American entertainer whose multifaceted career spans acting, comedy, writing, producing, and directing. Studying improv at Second City and ImprovOlympic in Chicago, she co-founded Upright Citizens Brigade, which later moved to New York and gained television exposure through a Comedy Central series in 1998. Poehler's influence extends to founding the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, solidifying her role in shaping contemporary sketch comedy.
