Isao Kimura

Isao Kimura, known as Kō Kimura, was a Japanese actor who left an indelible mark on cinema through his collaborations with Akira Kurosawa, notably as Yusa in "Stray Dog" and the youthful Katsushiro in "Seven Samurai." His career also flourished under Mikio Naruse and in the "Lone Wolf and Cub" series. Over nearly three decades, Kimura balanced his acting prowess with the establishment and direction of his own acting company, though it would later succumb to financial difficulties. His life, cut short by esophageal cancer at 57, encapsulates both the highs and lows of a performer deeply entrenched in Japanese cinema’s golden era.
