Jean Seberg

Jean Dorothy Seberg, born in 1938 and dead too soon in 1979, was a Hollywood actress who divided her life between the United States and France, appearing in over three dozen films. From her debut as Joan of Arc to roles in "Breathless" and "Bonjour Tristesse," Seberg's career was marked by versatility and international acclaim. Yet her life was marred by the FBI's COINTELPRO campaign, which targeted her for her support of the Black Panther Party. This harassment culminated in a false report of a pregnancy that allegedly pushed her into a severe mental decline. Her death at 40 in Paris was ruled a probable suicide, with her second husband, Romain Gary, blaming the FBI's relentless pursuit for her psychological unraveling.
