Marina Sirtis

Marina Sirtis, born in London's East End to Greek working-class parents, defied convention to pursue acting, joining the Connaught Theatre’s repertory company in 1976 and later the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Her breakout role came in Star Trek: The Next Generation as Counselor Deanna Troi, but before that, she appeared in British television series and films like The Wicked Lady and Death Wish 3. Sirtis, a Tottenham Hotspur supporter, moved to the U.S. in 1986, marrying rock guitarist Michael Lamper and becoming a naturalized citizen.
