Emil was a sophisticated Emergency Medical Hologram (EMH) used during the late 24th century by Captain Cristobal Rios aboard his ship, La Sirena. Like the other emergency holograms aboard the vessel, his appearance was based on that of Rios, though Emil was distinguished by an English accent.
Emil was one of several emergency holograms operated aboard La Sirena, alongside Emmet, Enoch, Ian, and Mister Hospitality. In his medical role he treated the wounded and greeted arriving guests, including Jean-Luc Picard when he came aboard in 2399. After Seven of Nine took ownership of La Sirena, she merged Emil and the other holoprograms into Emmet.
