Emory Erickson was the Human inventor famed for creating the molecular transporter — and for being the first person ever transported. A close friend of Henry Archer, he became a surrogate father to Jonathan Archer after Henry's death.
His attempt to invent a longer-range sub-quantum teleportation device in 2139 left him paralyzed and trapped his son Quinn in subspace; years later, aboard Enterprise NX-01, he briefly retrieved Quinn before his son died.
