Dr. Henry Archer was a Human scientist and engineer, the primary developer of the first warp engine capable of reaching warp five and a principal designer of the NX program. He was the father of Jonathan Archer and a good friend of transporter inventor Emory Erickson.
Working alongside Zefram Cochrane at the Warp Five Complex in Bozeman, Montana, he pursued the warp-five engine despite years of frustration over withheld Vulcan technology. He died in 2124 of Clarke's Disease before his engine could be constructed, a loss that shaped his son's later resentment of the Vulcans.
