Captain Gabriel Lorca was a Human Starfleet officer of the mid-23rd century who commanded the USS Buran. Unknown to those around him, the prime-universe Lorca had been covertly replaced by his Mirror Universe counterpart, who assumed his identity; the fate and precise timing of that switch were never confirmed onscreen.
Admiral Katrina Cornwell, with whom Lorca had once shared a romantic relationship, ultimately concluded that he could not have survived alone in the mirror universe and presumed him dead. Lorca appears in Star Trek: Discovery and was portrayed by Jason Isaacs.
