Kira Meru is a Bajoran woman featured in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, best known as the mother of Colonel Kira Nerys. Born in Bajor's Dahkur Province, she lived through the Cardassian Occupation, married Kira Taban, and raised three children before being taken from her family.
