Commander Pelia was a female Lanthanite Starfleet officer, an extremely long-lived being who claimed to have lived through the whole of Human history and to have been a contemporary of Pythagoras. Though otherwise indistinguishable from a Human, her species could be identified by her accent.
She served as an instructor at Starfleet Academy, counting Montgomery Scott among her best students, before joining the USS Enterprise as chief engineer under Captain Christopher Pike. A self-described packrat, she filled her quarters with antiques collected across the centuries, and was a friend of Amanda Grayson.
