Richard Robau was a Starfleet officer who, in the alternate reality established by the 2009 film Star Trek, served as captain of the USS Kelvin in 2233. His first officer was George Kirk, the father of James T. Kirk.
When the Kelvin was attacked by the Romulan mining vessel Narada immediately upon its emergence from a black hole, Robau was ordered aboard the enemy ship for negotiations, leaving George Kirk in command. Aboard the Narada he was killed by Nero, an event that set the wider Kelvin timeline in motion.
