Beckett Mariner was a female Human Starfleet officer of the late 24th century and one of the lower-decks crew of the USS Cerritos. The daughter of Captain Carol Freeman and Admiral Alonzo Freeman, she was a gifted and highly experienced officer who deliberately kept herself at the rank of ensign.
Mariner's self-sabotaging streak stemmed from survivor guilt after serving in the Dominion War early in her career, which left her with a deep fear of the responsibilities of command. Despite this, she formed close friendships with fellow Cerritos crew members Brad Boimler, Sam Rutherford, and D'Vana Tendi, and eventually came to terms with her trauma, accepting promotion and rising to provisional first officer of the Cerritos.
Beckett Mariner is a central character of Star Trek: Lower Decks.
