Sybok is a Vulcan character best known as the antagonist of the film Star Trek V: The Final Frontier. The firstborn son of Ambassador Sarek and a Vulcan princess, he was the elder half-brother of Spock. Rejecting the Vulcan discipline of logic in favor of emotion, Sybok became one of the V'tosh ka'tur and was ultimately banished from Vulcan.
Believing himself guided by visions of a divine being, Sybok led a following he called the Galactic Army of Light on a quest for the mythical planet Sha Ka Ree, commandeering the USS Enterprise to reach it before sacrificing himself upon discovering the truth. The character also appears in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, where an imprisoned Sybok figures in storylines under the alias Xaverius. He was portrayed by Laurence Luckinbill.
