R3-T2, known simply as R3, was an unaffiliated R3-series astromech droid manufactured by Industrial Automaton that lived in the Mos Eisley spaceport on Tatooine during the Imperial Era. It had a red dome with white-and-blue paneling, a black sensor, and stood 1.09 meters tall, kept in order by parts scavenged from the Jawa species.
The droid was among the crowds of Mos Eisley when three Inquisitors arrived in 9 BBY, and again when Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi passed through the spaceport in 1 BBY. R3-T2 first appeared in Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope and was recreated for the Obi-Wan Kenobi series.
