Obi-Wan Kenobi was a Force-sensitive human Jedi Master, remembered as one of the most respected figures of the late Republic era. Trained by Qui-Gon Jinn and mentored in turn by Grand Master Yoda, he served on the Jedi High Council and earned the nickname "the Negotiator."
As a High Jedi General in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars, Kenobi commanded clone forces alongside his apprentice Anakin Skywalker. He was central to many of the war's campaigns before the rise of the Galactic Empire and the Great Jedi Purge forced him into exile on Tatooine.
Living quietly as the hermit "Ben Kenobi," he watched over Luke Skywalker and later began the young man's Jedi training. He sacrificed himself aboard the first Death Star and continued to guide Luke as a presence within the Force.
