Gerardys is the maester of the Citadel in service to Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen at Dragonstone, appearing in the first and second seasons of House of the Dragon. A renowned healer and trusted advisor, he serves as Rhaenyra household maester during the buildup to the Dance of the Dragons.
Gerardys tutors the young Jacaerys Velaryon in High Valyrian and attends Rhaenyra through childbirth and the death of her father, King Viserys I. At the Black Council around the Painted Table he reports the houses declaring for the queen and proposes courting the Riverlands through Lord Grover Tully. The character is widely thought to be named for Vince Gerardis, an executive producer of the series.
